Actual reviews from Cafe de Flore customers
"Highly recommended, as locals comprise the majority of the clientele. Pretty expensive, but it is the seat, the society, and the view you are paying for, so don't order food like we did. Pay attention to locals and listen!"
"Go there and try to see if you spot one of the French (or foreign) celebrities that patron the place. And definitely taste the hot chocolate, which is absolutely delicious. It's a bit pricy, but nothing out of the ordinary for Paris."
"Overall, this place is famous for their history and some of the clientele they served, but is nothing too out of the ordinary. I definitely enjoyed my experience here and would recommend it for a Parisian breakfast/lunch. They also make delicious coffees and cappuccinos, should you want to visit just for that!"
"The waiter sat us at a larger four-top table on the patio to provide us with more room and a great setting for people watching. He suggested a wonderful bottle of Rose to share during our leisurely lunch. "
"Café de Flore, one of the oldest and most famous cafés on the Boulevard Saint-Germain, is definitely worth visiting if you have the chance while in Paris. I visited on a warm, sunny day, and luckily found a seat outside to enjoy a glass of wine and people watching. Prices are a bit high, but it's worth it for the experience."
"Definitely more expensive than Starbuck's but then again Starbuck's hasn't been around since 1887 and can't claim that Picasso, Hemingway, Capote, and Jean-Paul Sartre were regulars."
"The food is much better here than at Les Deux Magots next door and I think the prices are slightly more reasonable too. Had the best Club sandwich I've had in my life here (and I don't think it was because I was hungry after getting off the plane). The egg and bacon made the sandwich delicious. Freshest, best tasting bacon I've had anywhere. It came with chips. Had a cafe which was also good. My server was friendly and prompt. So intriguing to be a fly on the wall and watch old French men interact with each other. Good outdoor seating, great for people watching. Yes, this place is touristy, but just as many locals. Wonderful vintage atmosphere and ambiance. Lovely first meal in Paris."
